Anglican Diocese Online Service

We go LIVE!

Many of us have been enjoying the Diocesan livestream service that has really helped connect us to God and one another over the past 3 months. What has been discovered also is that HEAPS of people who don’t even usually go to church for a range of reasons have been tuning in as well! So the Diocese has decided to keep the live stream service going, by basing it in 4 parishes - the first of which is St Johns on July 12th, and then every second Sunday of the month thereafter.

Come and join us to experience it live!

St John's/ St Michael's AAW Meeting Thursday 6th August 1:30pm

August Meeting: We are pleased to have Rachel Middleton from our CPAC Congregation come and share about her time living in the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas).  I have always been fascinated by this remote South Atlantic archipelago, probably since Argentina and the UK fought over this territory in 1982.  We will begin with a short service, our talk and then afternoon tea and fellowship.  We will have a Sales Table, proceeds going to our mission projects, so please bring any plants, baking, veges, lemons etc for this.

Forthcoming Dates for Your Diary:

September:

3rd September 1:30pm: Our next meeting - Come and see a tuatara up close and personal as we welcome a speaker from Victoria University's Tuatara Conservation Programme.

26th September: Wellington AAW Diocesen AGM here at St John's - Guest Speaker is the Rev. Katie Lawrence, Canon Precentor at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul.  Shred lunch.  All welcome.

October 9th: Our fashion Parade at Ballentyne's Johnsonville to raise funds for the new Villa's Lounge rebuild and our mission work.  Tickets available shortly.  Please bring your friends to this fun evening.

AAW - The journeys of St Paul

AAW - The journeys of St Paul

We are going with the DVD in the Hunter lounge with afternoon tea.

Start Time: 1:30pm.

Theme: "The Journeys of St Paul"  - duration 60 minutes.  Followed by a discussion.  Please feel free to bring a friend.

I am really interested to see the DVD as it features St Paul's time in Corinth, Greece (51-52AD).  I was fortunate to visit Corinth two years ago and walk in his footsteps on the same streets.  This is where Paul wrote his first and second letters to the Thessalonians.

Sales Table: We would like to have our usual Sales Table to raise funds for our mission projects.  This hasn't been possible since we haven't met as a group at the church since February.  Please bring things to sell and money to buy.  Otherwise a gold coin donation would be appreciated.
